Morgan Stanley IWM 2020 Conference

Information Design + Branding

Morgan Stanley International Wealth Management focused on the financial needs of entrepreneurs, executives and professionals living outside the US. This project was the first virtual summit Morgan Stanley would execute in 2020.

We were tasked with providing a custom event hub, complete with moving mortises and mini commercial breaks for guest entertainment. The result was a simplified, streamlined event hub with matching live event graphics.

Conference Branding

Morgan Stanley provided minimal direction in the form of a simple stock footage for inspiration and color direction. I took that concept and provided the basic look and feel for my team’s use. I also created an animation of the event logo for the website and audience loading screens.

Broadcast design

As is the nature of the average webinar, this rather expensive and exclusive conference was held on Zoom. In order to ensure guests felt their experience matched the content and price point, the team got creative with how best to present the event speakers. The result was a series of newscaster-style mortise screens and broadcaster panel builds.

The mortise was designed as a looping image using the inspiration image for texture alongside a step and repeat of the event logo. Luma mattes of various sizes were used to “punch in” the faces of our speakers. Each lower third graphic was designed as a responsive template for premiere pro using adobe after effects as to maximize ease of editing for our event show runners.

Commercial design

I was also tasked with creating a series of advertisements showcasing the events of the day guests could look forward to as means of stoking excitement despite the abruptly remote nature of the event. These were also meant to provide instruction to guests who may have been unfamiliar with virtual conference formats.

SITE DESIGN

I played a support role in the site’s creation, primarily concerned with designing the iconography that would be used. We focused on ensuring the iconography was large, easy to understand, and clearly labeled, and this would be many people’s first ever virtual conference.

And the icons above were indicative of what event the user was currently watching.
